Solar lowers the energy you buy. A battery lowers the peak you are charged for and opens revenue that solar cannot reach on its own. We size both together from your meter data, so the battery earns its place in the pro forma.

WHY ADD A BATTERY

• Cut demand charges. National Grid bills commercial accounts on the highest 15-minute peak of the month. Solar cannot guarantee that peak; one cloudy afternoon sets it. A battery discharges into it.

• Keep the federal tax credit. Battery storage keeps the 30% federal investment tax credit through 2033, while solar-only projects face placed-in-service deadlines.

• Use state incentives. NYSERDA's Retail Energy Storage Incentive covers part of the battery cost upfront.

• Get paid by the utility. National Grid's load-relief programs pay multi-year contracts for batteries that discharge on a few high-demand days a year.

• Back up critical loads. Optional islanding keeps refrigeration, IT or controls running through an outage.

HOW WE SIZE A BATTERY

We start with 12 months of 15-minute interval data from your utility, model a full year of solar production against your load, and show the battery's value line by line: demand savings, export value, utility payments and incentives. If the battery does not pay, we will tell you and propose solar alone.

SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE

Systems use UL 9540-listed equipment, are designed to the New York State Fire Code, and are reviewed with your local fire department and code official before installation. We source FEOC-compliant batteries and document them for your tax advisor.
